Subcommittee gets first look at bill that would ease access to HPV vaccine

In 2013, South Carolina was one of five states to see a significant increase in the number of adolescents receiving vaccines for HPV, or the human papillomavirus. A bill moving through the State House aims to continue the state’s progress. If passed, it would allow the DHEC to recommend the Gardasil vaccine for children entering seventh grade and to provide parents information on HPV and cervical cancer.
